Welcome to FMNIG!
Hello to all you wonderful Gnomies! Our mission this year is to introduce some critical topics to you in the realm of Functional Medicine, including adjusting a patient's way-of-eating in order to achieve a therapeutic outcome, solving core problems to reach better health, and to inform you on what the FM training actually entails.
Here's what you can expect from your membership:
- Monthly Emails-- Every month, you should get an email with info of interest and alerting you to challenges or events that are going on during the month. They will, with the exception of this one, be sent at the beginning of each month.
- Website Database -- CampusGroups has a built in website functionality. I intend to make it a quick stop shop for you. After every meeting (virtual or in-person), all the info from the presentation will show up on the website so you can review it or investigate more at your leisure. If you want to help add to the collection of knowledge, email me!
- Monthly Casework -- I will be holding informal gatherings to discuss patients and the care we can provide to them, even if we are limited in our knowledge. I believe this is an excellent way to exercise the "doctor brain" and it allows you to engage with your fellow future colleagues in a team-building environments. First one should be in December.
- Swag and Gear! -- We are lucky enough to have a decent budget this year so we are looking to make some kind of gear to promote the club. We're thinking T-shirts but are down to hear if you have other ideas regarding swag you'd like to tote.
- Monthly Events -- We have an in-person event planned every month. In addition to that, we will have some events on Teams. If you have a topic you want covered, we can look into discussing it further. Just send me an email! 3rd and 4th years, if you want info but can't make it due to a school obligation, I'll see if I can get you the information/set up a Teams Link.
That's all for now!
Sincerely, the FMNIG Leadership
P.S. Don't forget to sign up for our Meet and Greet on 10/28! The link to the CG event is attached. There will be food. |
