It is the mission of AMOPS to be a forum for osteopathic education, mentorship, and advocacy to the United States Uniformed Services and to those who care for the men and women who serve and have served our country.

Student Members of AMOPS shall be fully matriculated students of a college of osteopathic medicine accredited by the members of the AOA, serving on active duty, guard, or reserve component in one of the uniformed services of the United States. Student Members are entitled to the same rights as an Active Member except for: Right to vote in General Membership Meetings, Hold elective office other than student representative of the AMOPS Board. Student Members will automatically be members of the Student Association of Military Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (SAMOPS) and will be subjected to the SAMOPS rules of business as defined by the SAMOPS executive board as overseen by the AMOPS Board.
