About Us

Welcome to Noorda's Wilderness Medicine Interest Group, otherwise known as WMIG!

The mission of WMIG is to encourage, foster, support, and conduct activities to improve the medical and scientific knowledge of its members in human health activities in a wilderness environment. This education is focused on increasing awareness and safety in the wilderness, as well as proper management of medical emergencies in wilderness environments.

Part of our commitment towards helping the community revolves around volunteering for Timpanogos Emergency Response Team (TERT). This is a very easy and fun way to earn your volunteer hours while giving back to the community (more info in meetings).

Beyond that, we like to host hikes, active events (trauma skills days, speakers), and social get-togethers that revolve around the great outdoors. Join us and enjoy learning more how medicine and the wilderness intersect!
